Humour and Human Quirks

Inspired by Elliott Erwitt and his wonderfully observant sense of humour, Humour and Human Quirks explores the amusing, unexpected and sometimes slightly absurd moments hidden within everyday life.

The street is full of small coincidences and curious human behaviour. A gesture, expression, unusual interaction or unexpected relationship between people and their surroundings can suddenly transform an ordinary scene into something playful.

I do not go into the street looking for jokes. Instead, I observe and remain open to situations in which humour appears naturally. Often it is subtle: a visual contradiction, an awkward moment, a strange coincidence or simply someone behaving in a wonderfully individual way.

These photographs celebrate the imperfections and peculiarities that make everyday life so interesting. Because sometimes the most memorable photographs begin when ordinary life becomes just a little bit strange.
