Dogs and People
There is something wonderfully honest about the relationship between dogs and their humans. It is built on trust, companionship and countless small moments that often go unnoticed. A glance, a gentle touch or simply walking side by side can reveal something about a bond that needs very few words.
Paws & People is a photography project about those relationships. During our walks through streets, parks, forests and open landscapes, we regularly meet people accompanied by their dogs. Sometimes it is the character of the dog that catches our attention; at other times, it is the connection between dog and owner that makes me stop.
These encounters often begin with a simple question: “May we photograph you and your dog?”
We keep these portraits relaxed and natural. We are not looking for perfect poses or perfectly behaved dogs. A curious glance, an unexpected movement or a dog suddenly becoming interested in something outside the frame often makes the photograph more personal and authentic.
The surroundings also become part of the story. A woodland path, a quiet street, a park bench or an open landscape helps reveal something about where the encounter took place.
But Paws & People is about more than beautiful dog portraits. What interests us most is the connection between the two — the small gestures, expressions and moments of trust that show how naturally dogs become part of our lives.
Each photograph begins with a chance encounter and ends with a small visual story about companionship, character and the special bond between paws and people.
Dog portraits
Dogs have always fascinated us as photographic subjects. Every dog has its own character, expressions and little habits, and that is exactly what we want to capture in Dog Portraits. We are not looking for the perfectly posed photograph, but for an image that feels genuine and shows something of the dog’s personality.
When we meet a dog that catches our attention, we take the time to observe. A curious glance, an attentive posture, a sudden burst of enthusiasm or simply the way a dog looks at me can be enough to create a portrait.
We like to keep these encounters spontaneous and relaxed, allowing the dog to simply be itself. Sometimes everything comes together immediately; sometimes it requires a little patience.
For us, Dog Portraits is about more than photographing how a dog looks. It is about capturing character, individuality and that one expression that makes every dog unmistakably itself.

Sometimes that connection is playful and energetic, sometimes calm and almost invisible. Every relationship is different, and that is exactly what makes these encounters so interesting to photograph.
For us, these photographs are not simply portraits of dogs and their humans. They are small stories about trust, friendship and the unique place dogs have in our everyday lives.
Dogs in Action
There is something wonderful about watching a dog completely absorbed in what it loves to do. Running at full speed, chasing a ball, jumping, playing or simply exploring its surroundings — these are the moments when energy, instinct and personality come together.
With Dogs in Action, we try to capture that energy as naturally as possible. Rather than directing what happens, we observe, anticipate and wait for the moment when movement, expression and timing meet.
As a photographer, we enjoy the challenge of reacting to something that is often wonderfully unpredictable. Every dog moves differently, and within that movement there is always something of its character to discover.
For us, Dogs in Action is not simply about freezing motion. It is about capturing the joy, freedom and enthusiasm of dogs being completely themselves.
