Rather than illustrating a story literally, I am drawn to photographs that suggest one. A solitary figure in an urban landscape, a fleeting gesture, the energy of movement, an unexpected detail or the quiet presence of a place can evoke questions without providing all the answers. It is this sense of possibility that makes an image particularly powerful as a book cover.

The photographs presented here have been selected with publishing and cover design in mind. Many offer natural space for typography and can be adapted to different formats and crops, allowing designers the freedom to create a distinctive visual identity around the image.
